It was designed by Arthur Hills, ASGCA, and opened for play in 1997, and is considered the #1 municipal golf course in Wisconsin, and the 2nd best in the nation in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.
